This weekend I happened to pay a visit to our resident theologian, Wesley Son of Cornelius at his secret underground lair. Although Wesley was in the lab, deeply involved in some heavy duty verbal scriptural sparing (something about Paul, the law, the validity of scripture) he took time out to chat with me and visit.
As Wesley finished up parsing some verbs, busting out the Greek lexicon, I couldn't help but to be enthralled as he handled the Word with fear and trembling and with thick rubber gloves and welder's goggles. The man is truly the mad scientist of the Word and his love for Jesus, me, his family, and others inspires me to be more like Jesus and for that I am grateful.
