A couple of weeks ago we had a photographer and friend, JonSpot, take our family photos. This is one of the cutest pictures ever of L. This is a great shot of the family. You should visit JonSpot's flickr page [ link ]. The guys is an amazing photographer.
Nothing, nada, zilch, zippo, zero, one big fat goose egg....that's what I've had for the past few months as my mind has slowly turned to watermelon flavored slush puppy. I can't even begin to explain it other than I haven't had the desire or the words to say much. Busy? You betcha. Here are a couple of updates for those of you who have been looking for me on the back of milk cartons. Seminary - I just finished my first semester of seminary (A-) and have a bit of a break until January when classes begin. I have signed up for Systematic Theology I, which makes me think there might be quite a bit of reading involved. Family - M is doing much better during this pregnancy. The first 12 weeks were so hard for her with sickness and a complete loss of energy. Next Tuesday we go for the big ultrasound! Now M is experiencing "expansion" pains and I will just leave it at that. She is so cute though, you should see her, all 5' 2" inches of her round beautiful self...
I was going through some pictures this morning and I came across these and thought I would share them with you as well as share with you my personal testimony. My goal here is to glorify Jesus and minister to anyone who might be facing some of the challenges I have faced in the past. Before - 199lbs - October 2007 After - 159lbs - August 2008 Back in March I went through the Setting Captives Free course on eating - The Lord's Table http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/lords_table/ and it has forever changed my life. The focus of the course is to teach how to feast on Jesus and how to turn from anyone or anything in your life that you may have placed in a position of glory other than Jesus. Setting Captives Free offers free online courses in food addiction, gambling, pornography, smoking, etc. I did the course on eating called the Lord's Table. I went into the course thinking I was "out of shape" and that I needed to lose some weight....what an idiot I was :-) God quickly...
Key up the trumpets, Que the firetrucks, bring in the Arabian dancing horses....it's Friday and that means another installment of the Week in Weird 2.0.
New, improved, and twice the sarcasm. Week In Weird 2.0
I am older than I thought as I reflect on my first day Graduate School.
Today is the day after Thursday and the day before Saturday which means it must be Friday...unless you are in China which means it is Saturday?
Another week gone by and another week away from the Steeple Community. Where has all the time gone? I wake up, I go to work, I go 100 miles an hour and the next thing I know I am going to bed. It's Friday and that means photos, and lot's of them. Last Saturday our Bible Fellowship class went to the 1982 World's Fair Park to play. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure/displeasure. 1. Me and little man 2. The three amigos 3. This one I call, "The eyes have it" If you like great photography make sure to visit Steve Mckoy's Friday photos here [ link ] and Joe Thorn's here [ link ]. Another week gone by...another series of photos, personal snippets, and short bursts of espresso filled sarcasm coming your way.
Thank goodness it's Friday. and that means....food stamps, government checks, 5lb blocks of cheese, and long lines at the banks just kidding. You know that Friday is for photos. 1. Last Friday we had a baby sitter so the wife and I headed downtime for some dinner. After dinner we walked across the Gay Street bridge. I have always wanted to get a picture of the JFG coffee sign (if you look at the end of the bridge you can barely see it) so we walked over to it. The evening was incredible. The food was good, the weather was outstanding, and I was with my girl. What more could a man ask for? Yesterday was my little boy's birthday. Here is a big shout out to you little big man from your pappa. I love you!
Several weeks ago I shared with our little community here the story of a new sister in Christ who is living in China (you can read the full story here [ link ] ). This story if you remember is about a woman who recently accepted Christ as her savior and Lord and then shortly after that found out that she is expecting another child. Here is the latest on this situation (notice all the "code" words they have to use because of censorship in the government): "What a trying few weeks this has been. Thank you for all the thinking you have done for LC and her family (the Doe family). After much pyr, tears, and sleepless nights. The Doe family has come to the decision to look beyond themselves and keep baby Doe, come what may. What a great cost they will pay to keep this child. They have made this decision on their own, and though no one else may help them, they are trusting in Dad to provide for their great need. What a big faith for a new sister and her husband, who still counts...
I can't remember the last time when work has been so hectic and so busy. This all began two weeks ago when I had to travel to N.J. or American Airlines, thank goodness it was not this week, to attend a customer meeting. It is funny and ironic, I am a salesman, my job is suppose to consist of me meeting with clients, understanding their needs, and then determining if our solutions can help them. Yet lately I feel all I do is manage email. You would think that the most important thing going for me would be to sit in front of customers but alas that is not the case. More and more any time I am out of the office it seems that is when the emergencies happen, the gremlins come out, and all...well, you know, breaks lose. So out of the office last week right? Then out Monday for a client review, out Tuesday for 2Q account reviews with my director which consisted of..."What are you going to sell this quarter?" and I drove 5 hours to answer that? I could have been in the office looking...
Don't you just love the Bass Pro Shop? I have to admit though that I am not a Bass, or a Pro, but boy can I shop! Here is a picture of one of their Arctic Cats, small white arctic kitty not included. The wife and I have decided that L will grow into this. Now if I can just find a gift bag big enough to.... Here is your daily Christmas video....enjoy!
Today is the last day of work for me for the year! For the past several years I have been fortunate enough to have enough vacation to take a some time off during the holidays. I have been looking forward to this for some time and hope to use this time to play with the kids, give the wife a break, read, study, make plans and goals 2008, visit with family, and rest. Can you believe that 2007 is almost gone? Since we have 9 days until Christmas I thought I would try to share with you a Christmas related video each day. This video comes to you courtesy of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Most have never seen this version, apparently this film was left on the cutting room floor. Enjoy.
