Wednesday, November 29, 2006 3:07 PM
Here are the answers to level three of the lost room even though I suppose you don't need this post since the answers were spoiled yesterday. The prize for the final level is a HP iPAQ Pocket PC h4350 (estimated retail value $650) will be awarded to the entrant chosen in the first random drawing.  To be entered into the drawing you must complete the third level by entering in the correct codes for each object.

Tomorrow I will more than likely make a post about the slim possibility of winning the 5 million dollar bounty for correctly guessing the objects and putting them in the right order.  In the mean time you may want to head over to the reader supported blog and check out a similar hunt to this one for the "Lex Returns" game.

SCIFI - The Lost Room: Object Hunt: Level Two
Tuesday, November 28, 2006 12:47 PM
The Lost Room isn't much of a hunt, although I give them credit for trying.  I decided to go ahead and provide the answers for the remaining levels since by now you have probably already solved them all or got bored trying to figure them out.

The prize for the second level of the Object Hunt is a Bose VCS-30 Center/Surround Sound Speaker Package (estimated retail value $349.99) which will be awarded to the entrant chosen in the second random drawing.  To be entered into the drawing you must complete the second level by entering in the correct codes for each object.

In a few days I will also have some commentary on the 5 million dollar drawing even though the likelyhood of anyone winning the prize is extreamly small.  But for now, here are the answers for level two of the object hunt.

The Bus Ticket - Bus085
Hint: A place to find out about you favorite TV programs both past and future. (TV.com)
Description: Instantly teleports any person who touches it - or who is touched with it - to a spot outside Gallup, N.M. The ticket itself remains where it is unless the teleported person was holding it at the time. Round trips are not possible.

The Clock - Clk215

The Nail File - Naf125

In case you got bored with the other riddles, here is a new one for ya.  The Ultimate Riddle with 77 levels.  Feel free to start discussing the answers in the comments to this post.

SCIFI - The Lost Room: Object Hunt: Level One
Monday, November 27, 2006 11:23 AM
The prize for the first level of the Object Hunt is a Zune 30 GB Digital Media Player (estimated retail value $249.99) which will be awarded to the entrant chosen in the third random drawing.  To be entered into the drawing you must complete the first level by entering in the correct codes for each object.

I completed the first level very quickly and consequently I thought it might not be necessary to post the answers for you.  After more thought, I decided that I would provide you with the answers for the first round and let you figure out the remaining rounds.  I may change my mind again and post them all in the next few days.

Feel free to ask for help on any of the objects via the comments to this post.   Answers to the first level are as follows:

The Bus Ticket - Bus085
Hint: A place to find out about you favorite TV programs both past and future. (TV.com)
Description: Instantly teleports any person who touches it - or who is touched with it - to a spot outside Gallup, N.M. The ticket itself remains where it is unless the teleported person was holding it at the time. Round trips are not possible.

The Key - Key925
Hint: A place where page six isn’t always page six. (NY Post)
Description: Opens any door with a pin-tumbler lock and makes it into a portal to the Motel Room, which seems to exist outside of normal space and, in turn, allows the user to exit through any door of their choosing, anywhere in the world.

The Pencil - Pcl583

The Umbrella - Umb642

The Scissors - Sci555
Hint: Home of all things sci-fi. (The SCI FI Channel)
Description: Rotates arbitrary things in three-dimensional space. The axis of the rotation can be either within or without the target. Targeted items can be of any size or mass.

SCIFI - The Lost Room
Saturday, November 25, 2006 11:54 PM
This is the "Games" blog.  I created this blog to discuss answers and riddles for games that aren't big enough to justify having their own dedicated blog, like AOL's Gold Rush.  This will be a good place to discuss the latest online games and sweepstakes.

USALT1 tipped us off to The Lost Room from the SCIFI channel so I thought that would be a good game to discuss, on this the first post of the Games blog.  Their are two games with different prizes, both of which look like fun, even though they will end up as two drawings for random winners.

One thing I noticed right away was that I had to scroll through the games to read the rules.  In particular I was looking for the official prize list, game dates, and game play details, but I didn't want to have to flip through (wait for) the flash game to read them.

I decided to go ahead and do a little digging to find the source file for the rules and within a few moments, whalaa, I found it.  You can read the xml/text file of the rules for the object hunt right here and the rules for the 5 million dollar prize right here.  Pretty convenient I thought.  I'll have more on both of these games soon.

Feel free to share your answers insights with us in the comments to this post.
