There is a string on numbers at the end - 14, 17, 26, 19, 23, 13, 7, 10. I haven't gotten anywhere with that yet.

Games and stuff! 4/28/08
Monday, April 28, 2008 12:00 AM

Here is what is on my agenda right now, tell me what I'm missing!

Thanks very much to WLAPPAS for discovering a NEW GAME for us to check out!

It's called Wiseoz, and it's sort of a riddle solving challenge. If you solve first, you win prizes. Some prizes are merely 'points' other prizes are gift cards, DVD's and the like.

They are tricky. I will start a forum post to share answers - because you only get ONE guess.

I had a go at the "E-mail is this ism" question. I guessed 'colloquialism' - which was wrong. Apparently the answer was neologism. Only 4 people guessed at the answer, so you stand a great chance of winning right now if you can figure these out!

They do not have a link for referrals yet, so it would be great if you could EMAIL ME if you want to have a look so I can send you a referral email. If you want to sign up on your own, that's fine too.

sandi@steeplemedia.net

I am still checking out TEET

They have added a slot machine....I hate it. So far it has been most unkind to me! They are due to add more games soon, so the site is less sitting around for hours on end waiting. I don't know, I'm still undecided on whether I like this site or not - what do you guys think?

Don't forget they have 'Fast Hour' (or two) on Saturdays! Usually at 1 or 2pm EST but check the site for details.

Daily or so:

www.dingleit.com
www.bidcrap.com (actually seems to be weekly now)
www.jellyfish.com
www.tanga.com (10pm EST)
www.playcafe.com (8-10pm EST but may be changing)  ASK ME for an invite if you would like to join the Steeplemedia Red team!
http://club.live.com/

YAY NEW GAMES!!! I love the Matt Lauer one - its a cinch and its basically 5 pts per trivia question!

Also THANK YOU ZACH for bringing this anagramming site to my attention - wow does it make Club Live EASIER with this! It has a section specifically for Club Live games!! You have to check it out. http://www.anagrammer.com/

The Deal on Gift Registries...
Saturday, April 26, 2008 2:16 PM

So I was a bit slow on the bandwagon for these - I wasn't really sure what they were all about.

Now I have had a go, and been successful I wanted to share with you the low down on these things

You can sign up for Gift Registries at various stores - mainly Linens and Things and Bed Bath and Beyond.

When you sign up, you can choose what the occasion is. I chose birthday party - however, when I went to print out all of the rebates, they ALL mentioned wedding dates and brides, so I think they are really aimed at brides to be.

Next, you go to the rewards page and you add EVERY item that offers a reward to your registry list. You need to add exactly what they ask - eg if they request $500 worth of cutlery, make sure you have over that amount. You don't buy anything. All you have to do is add it to your list. Some gifts are incentives for actually purchasing the item - only add the items which offer free gift upon ADDING to registry only, not purchase.

You can add a few more items for flavor if you like, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Next you have to print out your registry list - once for EVERY offer. I ended up printing 6 copies of mine. You also need to print out the rebate form. Then you fill in the rebate form and send it all off.

As I said, I sent off for 6 gifts. So I am out for 12 pieces of paper, a bit of ink, 6 envelopes and 6 stamps - around $4.50 or less.

Yesterday I received a check from Cuisinart for $25!

Simple as that. Presumably I also have 5 more gifts coming. Even if this is the only one I get, it is still worth the effort in my opinion! I did the Linens and Things one. As I said, I registered for a birthday party. On the rebate forms when they asked wedding date, I just put my party date.

Let me know how you fare!

BED BATH & BEYOND

LINENS & THINGS

EDIT: I only did the LNT registry.

BB&B seems more difficult. First off they specify it must be a wedding or commitment ceremony. Then I can't see any links to rebate forms to print out....I will keep looking

Weekly:

www.ipodsweepstakes.com (this is LEGIT I have received a 3rd gen Nano from them. Takes time but you can earn an iphone also. Make sure you set up an email account to use JUST for this though before you start - mega spamming will occur. Also if I earn a shuffle as a result of referrals, if will be raffled off amongst referrals) PLEASE refer to my original post on this for tips to make this as easy and painless as possible! ORIGINAL POST HERE

I have revisited ipodsweeps. The offers have CHANGED substantially. There are currently 96 pts available from email or zip only, and that's it. There used to be 800 pts worth of those. I highly recommend that you make a small error on your address and consider doing some of the free offers for information. The surveys/contests you can try also but you will have to wade through about 20 pages before they let you 'out' Please don't give away your real information for free. You can consider doing some of the free trials ones also, as long as you know you will remember to cancel on time

My apologies, this used to be MUCH quicker and easier! I haven't checked it out in a while.

Occasional

www.adperk.com (for free magazine subscriptions) <------ corrected link!!!!

www.whogets.com - enter to win prizes. Then if you are selected as a finalist, let us know and we will vote for you!

Why aren't you guys getting in on this? I mean I know they are not the most exciting prizes ever, but with so little competition we could all really help each other out! Unruli only has my vote so far to win the prepaid phone! The site seems to be down right now, but check it out when it's back up!

Now what am I missing?

Be a Panelist!
Friday, April 18, 2008 8:38 PM

This is for those of you who like doing surveys and being on panels.

I am pretty new to this one, so i can't say I have gotten much from it so far. All I have seen so far is sweeps entries for survey completion. The reason why I'm willing to give it a go is that there are NOT that many people doing these surveys. The last one had less than 2000 respondents, so I figure the odds of winning are better.

They do also claim to send you things to try in your home, and cash incentives also - perhaps those things are still to come for me.

Any way if you would like to check it out,  let me know how you fare with it!
