Survivor China Episode 7: I'm Not As Dumb As I Look
I find the title of Friday's Survivor Episode really ironic: the Survivor who has inspired that title has been one of the stupidest Survivor thus far (excluding Courtney). Thankfully, Jaime has shown her true colours and has been sent home.
It's day 19, and over at Zhan Hu, James is trying to get his hands on the second immunity idol. There are altogether 4 medallions, one on each side of the 2 paifangs. James takes off one medallion, and it isn't the idol. He tosses it on the base of the paifang. The second one he takes is the real idol. Now he has 2 idols. When Jaime and Erik come back, they notice that the medallions are missing. Since they know James has been kidnapped and he knows where the idols are, they begin to get suspicious and grab the tossed medallion. Then, while James is away talking to Peih-Gee, Erik and Jaime open his backpack and feels James' 2 idols, and since all of them are medallions, they think that they have a hidden immunity idol (which isn't true since there are only 2 idols, and James has both of them).
The tribes gather for their next reward challenge, but are informed by Jeff that they're merging. They will have a traditional Merge Feast and have a Chinese Performance while having the feast. Then, out of the blue, Jeff issues a dire warning: "The game never stops". With this warning echoing in their minds, the tribes set out for the feast. The tribes marvel at the performances, but Jean-Robert expresses his suspicions on Jeff's warning.
Back at camp, the newly merged tribes name their tribe 黑打风 (Hae Da Fung) which means Black Fighting Wind (weird name, I must say, grammatically incorrect). Anyway, Jeff visits the tribe at their camp, and a surprised Jaime exclaims "It's Jeff!" Turns out, the first individual immunity challenge is a memory challenge on the merge feast and performance! Jeff will ask questions on the merge feast and performances. One wrong answer and that person's out. Last person left standing wins. In the end, Frosti barely beats out Jaime to win the first Immunity Necklace.
After the challenge, Jaime is confident about staying in the game because of her "hidden immunity idol", and even tells Todd and James about the "idol". Meanwhile, the previous Fei Long members and Frosti target Jaime. However, Courtney is still bent on Jean-Robert and Jean-Robert is bent on Peih-Gee. Come on people! This is Outwit, Outplay and Outlast, not Outhate!
Anyway, at Tribal Council, before the vote, Jaime presents the "idol" to Jeff. Jeff takes the idol and repeats the rules of the game ("If this is the idol, the person with the next highest number of votes is out") but of course, that is NOT an idol ("This is not the hidden immunity idol") and Jeff throws it into the fire (Hah! Take THAT, Jaime!) and Jaime looks like she was slapped in the face. In the end, Courtney and Jean-Robert vote for Jaime, and Jaime is the first member of the Jury.
P.S. At first, I thought Hae Da Fung was 黑大风 (Black Big Wind). Oops!
