Ladies Eighties Night!

Published 05 March 08 09:28 PM | Zach

Get ready for Lady’s 80s night! The top 8 girls will be belting it out to the songs of the 80s just as the guys did last night. Will they do as well as the men? Or will they fall to defeat? This is American Idol!!

Also, just like last night, I will rate them 1 through 8 but I won’t be listing the numbers next week during the top 12 performances.

I have decided that this season I will watch the show and judge without the imput of the judges. I mute them while I type my results. Then I replayed the results during breaks and said who I agreed with. Honestly!! These performances are in order so if you are still up until 12:00 PM EST tonight, you can still call in! Remember the number is 1-866-IDOLS(43657)-(their two digits eg. 01 or 12) OR if you have a AT&T Wireless phone, you can text the word VOTE to 57(their two digits). ((OK now I really feel like Ryan))

01. Asia’h Epperson sang I Wanna Dance With Sombody by Whitney Houston.

How I think they did: It was just OK… Not much more that I could say. She’ll be in the top 12 though.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 4) (Last week: -)

02. Kady Malloy sang Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen.

How I think they did: Had MAJOR pitch problems at the beginning. That could be the end of the road for her. However, it was better than last week.

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 8) (Last week: -)

03. Amanda Overmyer sang I Hate Myself for Loving You by Joan Jett.

How I think they did: I thought she sang that song fairly well. The hair was MUCH better this week (haha). She has found her niche BUT I think we need to see a “softer side” or a different song type from her. Just to show that she has that Idol quality.

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 2) (Last week: -)

04. Carly Smithson sang I Drove All Night by Cyndi Lauper.

How I think they did: I thought it was really really good! It started off a bit shaky for me but in the end, it was great!

I agree with Randy on replay.

My Order (This week: 3) (Last week: -)

05. Kristy Lee Cook sang Faithfully by Journey.

How I think they did: Her eyes were closed for a lot of it, that drove me nuts! It was a great performance, a little too much vibrato in it. The country aspect of the song was cool. A teensy bit of a pitch problem but in the end, it was great!

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 7) (Last week: -)

06. Ramile Malubay sang Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now) by Phil Collins.

How I think they did: It was OK… I kinda stopped paying attention half way through it… Boring…

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 6) (Last week: -)

07. Brooke White sang Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar.

How I think they did: Brooke has to be my favorite out of the ladies. I liked the fact that it was totally different than we are used to hearing. It was perfect!

I agree with Simon on replay.

My Order (This week: 1) (Last week: -)

08. Syesha Mercado sang Saving All My Love For You by Whitney Houston.

How I think they did: Not bad…. “Good” that’s all we got from the judges… must be running late!

I agree with on replay.

My Order (This week: 5) (Last week: -)

I'm tired of Kady, Ramile and Syesha.  Brooke was amazing, and Amanda was tolerable for a change!  The rest were good enough to go on and let us see what they can really do!
