Survivor China Episode 7: I'm Not As Dumb As I Look

I find the title of Friday's Survivor Episode really ironic: the Survivor who has inspired that title has been one of the stupidest Survivor thus far (excluding Courtney). Thankfully, Jaime has shown her true colours and has been sent home. It's day 19, and over at Zhan Hu, James is trying to get his hands on the second immunity idol. There are altogether 4 medallions, one on each side of the 2 paifangs. James takes off one medallion, and it isn't the idol. He tosses it on the base of the paifang. The second one he takes is the real idol. Now he has 2 idols. When Jaime and Erik come back, they notice that the medallions are missing. Since they know James has been kidnapped and he knows where the idols are, they begin to get suspicious and grab the tossed medallion. Then, while James is away talking to Peih-Gee, Erik and Jaime open his backpack and feels James' 2 idols, and since all of them are medallions, they think that they have a hidden immunity idol (which isn't...

Survivor China Episode 6: That's Love, Baby! It Makes you Strong!

The sun comes out after the storm. This is also true for Survivor. After one of the worst episodes, came one of the best episodes yet. In a tense tribal council, another Survivor's fire is extinguished and is sent packing. It's day 16, and the search for the Hidden Immunity Idol is heating up. Todd tells Amanda about the Hidden Immunity Idol and his plan to kidnap James after winning the reward challenge, such that James can pass the next clue over to him. The reward challenge is to run into an old dilapidated house and untie puzzle pieces. Once all 8 are untied, tribes must use them to form a phrase spoken by Confucius. The reward is the chance to go to a teahouse and have tea, snacks and a bath and lots and lots of CHARMIN ULTRA-STRONG toilet paper (product placement). Fei Long got off to an early start and kept it as they successfully revealed the phrase "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". They kidnap James over and all head to a teahouse coincidentally...

Survivor China Episode 5: Love is in the Air

Sorry for posting so late, I had to organize some activities for my school. Anyway, episode 5 was definitely the weakest in the series so far. A tremendously unfair twist, followed by a boring immunity challenge had turned the meaning of "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" to "Outluck, Outluck, Outluck." Let's review what had happened, shall we? It's day 13, and at Zhan Hu, Erik and Jaime are flirting in the pool, and Jaime, in a moment of "true love" (ahem, ahem) reveals to Erik about the Hidden Immunity Idol that only she knew about! With that, all the advantage she had is gone. Good show, Jaime. Terrific move. Even Britney Spears hooked up with Kevin Federline for over 13 days before marrying him. You're trusting $1 million dollars on some hot stranger on some remote island in Asia? If there was love between them, I think it would be short-lived. Let's see if I'm right. Then, a boat approaches the Zhan Hu camp, and a fisherman hands a mysterious...

Survivor China Episode 4: Ride the Workhorse Till the Tail Falls Off

In what is the best episode to date, Dave was overlooked by his fellow tribemates and he was the 4th person to be sent home. It's Day 10 of Survivor, and tribemates at Zhan Hu wakes up to the arguments between Dave and Sharea. Sharea was upset that Dave is not taking anyone else's advice and was just being a bossy know-it-all. I agree, Dave was actually only listening to himself. In a twist, tribes learn from tree mail that the reward challenge is to happen at Tribal Council! Night falls, and teams make their way to the "Tribal Council" temple for their reward challenge. In this nighttime challenge, teams are to use chopsticks to move flaming balls from one end of the temple to another, and drop it into a chute where the ball will roll down and ignite FIREWORKS into the sky. First team to ignite 3 fireworks wins. Fei Long totally "owned" this challenge, and Zhan Hu was left behind. Dave was kidnapped from the Zhan Hu tribe, and a fisherman family will teach...

Survivor China Episode 3: Radio Talk Show Host Leslie is OUT

First review! Hope it satisfies Survivor and non-Survivor fans out there! Well, I know this is outdated, but I'm working on episode 4, and I'll just blog on episode 3 first. This week's Survivor episode must be the best yet. Christian Radio talk show host Leslie has made many critical mistakes in her short stay in Survivor and deserves to be ousted. This week's reward challenge was another wrestling challenge... Two boats were linked together by two bridges. Tribes started on opposite sides of the boat and had to push all of the members of the opposing tribe to win 1 point. First to 3 wins. The women fight it out first. Oh my gosh, Fei Long was WEAK! Look at Sharea push, look at Denise push! Compare this to the Fei Long women. They stood no chance. However, Fei Long quickly made up some ground when they won the next match between men. James is definitely the most aggressive player in terms of physicality in this season. Fei Long scores a point. They lose the match against...
